Our Mission: Confidence in Planning

RainCheck was built to empower event planners, organizers, and anyone hosting an outdoor activity with data-driven certainty .

Built for the NASA Space Apps Challenge

RainCheck is the proud result of Team AlphaZ9.3's participation in the NASA Space Apps Challenge 2025 . Our goal was to leverage NASA's vast open data—specifically related to Earth observation and meteorological models—to solve a real-world problem: weather risk assessment for events . This platform is a testament to what can be achieved when global data is made accessible and applied with focused technology.

The challenge inspired us to turn complex science into a simple, actionable tool for everyday use.

Philosophy: Data Transparency & Actionability

  • Accuracy First: We prioritize high-resolution, peer-reviewed meteorological data to ensure the most reliable 7-day forecast possible.
  • Simplicity Wins: Our core innovation is the Instant Risk Score , transforming dozens of weather variables into a single, unambiguous decision point.
  • Open Source Commitment: We believe in the power of open data, using public APIs (like Open-Meteo) to provide our service free of charge.
